The Dinner is an emotionally-gripping short film by award-winning writer/director Dawn Fields (Fragile Storm-starring Lance Henriksen).

It was inspired by the Pulitzer Prize-winning play ‘night, Mother, which was adapted into the 1986 movie starring Sissy Spacek and Anne Bancroft.

The Dinner tells the story of a young woman who, despite appearing to have it all, reveals to her sister during dinner her intention to end her life.

DISTRIBUTION STRATEGY

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re releasing The Dinner for free on our YouTube channel and social media platforms on Thursday, May 15, 2025.

This release serves both as a tribute to our dedicated cast and crew and as a means to foster conversations around mental health and the upcoming feature film version, Dinner with Quinn.

Dawn Fields is a Los Angeles-based writer, director, and producer with several projects currently in the works. With over 25 years in the film industry, she has worked in production for Lucasfilm, Twentieth Century Fox, and NBC, earning over 50 IMDb production credits in addition to her experience in acquisitions, development, and distribution.

As a filmmaker, Dawn has written, directed, and produced award-winning films, including Fragile Storm (starring Lance Henriksen), with her work distributed on Amazon, AppleTV, FreeVee, Tubi, and more.

A seasoned pitch coach and creative strategist, Dawn has spent the past eight years helping filmmakers and entrepreneurs refine their pitches, attract investors, and position their projects for success.
